Overview
A Learning on Screen membership gives your institution access to a range of services designed to support teaching, learning and research using film, TV and radio.
Whether you’re looking for content, training, or ways to connect with other institutions, membership provides tools and resources to help you make the most of audiovisual media in education.
Access to TRILT
All members have access to TRILT (Television and Radio Index for Learning and Teaching)—a comprehensive database of UK television and radio broadcasts.
With TRILT, you can:
- Search past, present and upcoming broadcasts
- Explore detailed programme information and metadata
- Identify content available through the Off-Air Service
TRILT is especially useful for research, discovery and finding archive material that isn’t immediately available to watch.
Access to BoB (subscription required)
If your institution subscribes to Box of Broadcasts (BoB), staff and students can access a large archive of TV and radio content on demand.
With BoB, you can:
- Watch programmes from over 75 channels
- Search within transcripts to find specific moments
- Request and record programmes
- Create clips and playlists to support teaching
BoB is widely used to bring audiovisual content directly into teaching and learning, making it easier to engage students with real-world material.
