If you’re having trouble playing programmes on BoB, the issue is often related to your browser, device, or internet connection.
This guide covers the most common problems and simple steps you can take to fix them.
Quick answer
If a programme isn’t playing:
- Clear your cache and cookies
- Try a different browser or device
- Check your internet connection
- If the issue continues, use the “Report issue” button on the programme page
Programme won’t play
If a programme won’t start or keeps buffering:
Try the following:
- Clear your browser’s cache and cookies
- Refresh the page
- Try a different browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
- Try a different device
Poor playback quality or buffering
If playback is slow, buffering, or low quality:
- Check your internet connection
- If you’re on a campus network, contact your IT department to check for restrictions
- Try switching networks (e.g. Wi-Fi to mobile hotspot, if possible)
Audio issues
If the sound is missing or cuts out:
- Refresh the page
- Check your device’s volume and audio settings
- Try a different browser or device
Programme is incomplete or incorrect
If a programme:
- Cuts off early
- Doesn’t match the title or description
This is usually a recording issue rather than a playback issue.
