Overview
This article explains how to access Box of Broadcasts (BoB) and TRILT, including the two ways your account can be set up: Single Sign-On (SSO) or local login.
Quick answer
- Most users log in using their institutional account (SSO)
- Some institutions use local login, where accounts are set up for you
- In both cases, you’ll need to verify your email address to complete setup
How do I access BoB?
There are two ways to access BoB, depending on how your institution is set up.
Access via SSO (institution login)
If your institution uses Single Sign-On (e.g. OpenAthens or Shibboleth), you can get started straight away:
- Go to the BoB login page
- Select your institution from the list
- Log in using your institutional credentials
- Verify your email address when prompted
Once that’s done, your account is ready to use.
Access via local login
If your institution doesn’t use SSO, your account will need to be set up for you.
If you’re a staff member or student:
- Get in touch with your Member Representative and ask them to request an account on your behalf
- Not sure who your Member Representative is? Just email members@learningonscreen.ac.uk and we’ll point you in the right direction
Once your account has been requested:
- We’ll create your account
- You’ll receive an email asking you to verify your address
- Click the link in the email to activate your account
If you're a Member Representative:
- Email members@learningonscreen.ac.uk with the email address of the staff member or student who needs access
- We’ll create the account and send them a verification email
- They’ll need to click the link in the email to complete their account setup
If the account needs additional permissions (e.g. Off-Air or Member Representative access), we can add these once the account has been verified. See “How to get Off-Air or Member Representative access” for more details.
Who can access BoB?
BoB is available to:
- Staff and students at member institutions who are based in the UK
- Institutions that hold a valid ERA (Educational Recording Agency) licence
You can access BoB on or off campus, as long as you’re in the UK.
What happens when I leave my institution?
- SSO users: your access will end automatically when your institutional login is deactivated
- Local login users: your institution will need to let us know when your access should be removed
If you’re unsure about your access, your institution’s IT team or Member Representative can help.
